I promised a horror movie a day this month, so I’d better deliver in case anyone read that post in which i did so. Just for the record, I don’t think these are gonna be in any sort of order, the only thing common among all these movies will be that I enjoy them. Now, with that inspired introduction out of the way, let’s get this party started!

I figure I’ll go big right from the start. We’re starting our horror movie of the day feature with a film that I have what is likely an unhealthy obsession with, The Blair Witch Project! I’ve seen this movie a billion times and I love it dearly, but let’s rewind the tape a little bit and return to the beginning. My love for this film began back in ‘99 before it was released. The viral promotional campaign for this film was awesome mainly due to the incredibly belivable nature of the story and the accompanying website. They even had a Discovery Channel documentary about the Blair Witch and the missing kids!! THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL! they weren’t messing around. Maybe it was A&E. But I’m pretty sure it was discovery. Anywho, I got sucked into the hype pretty early and it stuck. I saw the movie on opening night, loved it, and was terrified to walk in the woods alone at night for years to come. I know that to some, the fact that you never really..see..anything is a turn off. But to me, that does nothing but help make it more awesome. It’s all about the perceived horror, the perceived violence..it’s all about letting your imagine run wild about what really happens. Sure, the story guides you along the path they want you to be on subtly throughout the film, but for the most part, everything that happens does so in the viewer’s mind. It’s such a old school way of doing things, so psychologically driven..and that helps make it a fantastic film. Too bad the BW2: Book Of Shadows was awful. BUTTT! Rumor is a THIRD MOVIE (now said to be called BW3: The Beginning) has finally gone into production and will be released for Halloween ‘09 (the 10 year anniversary of the original)..if it’s true and done right, it could be fannntastic. There’s also rumors that a 4th movie, called simply ‘Blair’, is planned about the ’supernatural killings’ that took place in that town. sooo we shall see.

I really didn’t like this movie at all. I need to see it again though cuz I see horror movies in a different light nowadays.
yes you do
James was the one that told me it wasn’t real. Which means I walked around for approximately two years thinking it was. Yeahhhh I know.
theres no shame in that jeanna, it is rather believable
