What? I’ve put two documentaries back to back? How odd.
First things first, this movie is about video games. Secondly, this movie is about video gamers attempting to get world records in said video games. Thirdly, This movie is basically about 2 guys competing for the world’s record in Donkey Kong. And fourthly, I REALLY, REALLY SUCK at Donkey Kong.
Why is this movie so high on my list? I just thought the story was extremely interesting and put together very well. Not to mention, I’m a little geeky at heart. (Note: This will be probably be made more noticeable by future titles on my list). If anything, it was probably one of the most dramatic and entertaining documentaries that came out this year. Not to ention, it plays out like a REAL life Christopher Guest film.
Check it out if love video games, or even relate to the culture of the geek. Hell, check it out if you love huge Giant Mega Apes that steal Mario’s girlfriend.
