I was skeptical when going to see this movie. It’s been all over everything as far as advertising goes and the fact that Jim Carrey and Steve Carell were the two rambunctious front-men, I was afraid that the creative integrity of Dr. Seuss would be compromised in order to create a money-mongering Hollywood Blockbuster. Also, I am a huge Pixar fan. Everything Pixar does, I’m in love with automatically. This is not Pixar obviously, but I’ve heard lately that these guys are kinda neck-and-neck with the ol’ Pixar gang. So I checked it out.
This movie was wonderful. The animation stood alone and was unbelievably realistic. Dr. Seuss’s imaginative imagery played a huge part in the movie as well, as each and every second of the film was thought out to it’s utmost creative potential. I felt like a little kid in a candy store as I marveled at Whoville and all of the silly predicaments that Horton found himself in. As most kid movies go, it gets a little tiresome three-quarters of the way in, as the antagonists always take over and things become a little too scary and serious. They did a good job of keeping the humor alive though. There are very few things I would change about this film and absolutely recommend anybody to go see it. Go! It’ll make you feel like a creative seven year old all over again.
My mom was desperately trying to force me and Shann into going to see this instead of the other Boleyn.

Dr. Seuss is classic, i forgot how much that guy packed into such simple storylines… they didn’t add much to the original story either except for the usual Jim Carreyisms.
