Oh the little jems you stumble upon when you have insomnia due to drinking double strength rockstar. Oh wait did I say jem? I mean utter load of crap. I found this on 24Framespersecond.net (where I go to get the 411 on asian films, not to mention horror movies). Apparently they’re making a Dragonball Z movie with whitey here (no offense) as our lead hero Goku…..uh…what? That’s like getting Tom Hanks to play Malcom X. It just doesn’t fit. In addition the film will be using a more “modern” setting, rather than the ancient one used in the original anime. Do they plan on using anything from the original anime? The film is also set to star Chow Yun-Fat (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Look for it in theaters April 2009…around the same time i’ll be cursing the gods for fucking this up.
I wont defend this film because I have this deep rooted feeling that it will also suck. Plus, thinking of Spike from Buffy as a green Namekian makes me chuckle. However, this film is past due… seriously, this shouldve come out 5 years ago.
Now 2 things about the poster: 1) why is she holding a gun? 2)They’re 3 girls on the cover… I dont think there were that many on the show.

Yeah I was also wondering why there were so many girls. The anime was a “boys club” kind of anime (the women in it were lucky if they got 5 minutes of speaking time an epidsode) so I don’t get why suddenly they’re featuring all these women as if they’ll be part of the main focus.

the only reason im going to see it is so i can go as master roshi…..with the shell. lol.
other than that i have some serious doubts about the movie.
