The Bear Days Of Summer Movie Spectacular!

With summer (almost) officially upon us, it is with great pleasure that I begin the world famous Bear Days Of Summer here at BEP. What does that mean you ask?  Well, I’ll tell you. It means I’ll be talking about summery things; ya know, fun stuff that helps get me through these miserably hot friggin’ days.
Sooo, with that in mind, I officially shall kick off the BDOS by reviving the wildly popular BEP Retro and, each weekend, share with you a different movie that brings me joy to watch during these upcoming months. Hopefully you’ll agree with some of them, and if you don’t, well, go start your own blog, hater.

National Lampoon’s Vacation

Gah this movie is just a straight up classic. I don’t even like comedies all that much and this movie makes me lol. If you’re from Neptune and haven’t seen this flick, here’s the premise. Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) rounds up his family, loads them into the family truckster, and takes them on a journey out to California’s big Walley World theme park….annnnnnnnnd hilarity ensues.
As someone who’s been on his fair share of family vacations, I can totally relate in some form to just about every facet of this movie, and that’s probably why it’s just so darn enjoyable.
Back in the 80s John Hughes could do absolutely no wrong, and this film was basically the start of a long run of awesomely sweet movies, many of which will probably be showing up here over the next few weeks/months.
Anyhoo, Vacation is fantastic and is a must for me in the summertime.  It’s funny, insanely quotable, and even has some boobage (if you’re into that sorta thing)..so really, you can’t beat it. Great stuff.
